James Nevin Grade 10 learner was selected as a member of the Western Province Senior A Team (chosen from amongst Grade 10s, 11s and 12s in the WP) which took part in the annual Inter-provincial Mathematics Olympiad (IPMO), held on Saturday 10th September 2011 at Stellenbosch University.

James’ team (i.e Western Province A) took first place in the senior section of the competition, competing against 21 other provincial teams from throughout South Africa.

James scored 86 out of 100 for the Individual section of the competition – which means he shared a three-way tie for 2nd highest score in the Western Province A Team.

Bergvliet High School are clearly very proud of James’ achievement!
